Gravity West has recently acquired and is 100% owner of the Saint Urbain Iron and Titanium Property consisting of 185 claims covering approximately 10,749.99 hectares in two claim blocks located south of Saint Urbain in the eastern province of Quebec, Canada. The Property is located 1.5 kilometres to the south of the town of Saint Urbain, which is approximately 130 kilometres northeast of Quebec City and is readily accessed via Provincial Route 138. The nearest seaport is located 11 km to the south on the St Lawrence seaway which services ocean going vessels and nearby rail lines for both freight and passenger service. Rio Tinto's iron and titanium plant in Sorel Tracey, QC is located 260 km south, via St. Lawrence Seaway. The Western Claim Block is located adjacent to past producing titanium mines including Mine Bignell, Mine Coulombe, Bouchard, and Mine General Electric, which produced over 500,000 tonnes of ore.
The anorthosite host rocks of the ilmenite-hematite ore are occupying an oval area approximately 28 kilometres long underlying most of the Property area, and are intruding into the surrounding granite-diorite series rocks of Precambrian age.
The Property is located 1.5 km to the south of Saint Urbain town, approximately 130 kilometres northeast of Quebec City and is readily accessed via provincial route138. The nearest seaport is located 11 km to the south on the St Lawrence seaway which services ocean going vessels and nearby rail lines for both freight and passenger service. St Urbain is located in Quebec's Lake District and enjoys the economic advantage of being at the heart of the districts forestry and mining region. Electricity and water is also available locally.
For the period from 1958 to 1975, various operators had carried out exploration work including drilling, trenching, sampling, gravimeter and magnetometer ground geophysical surveys on the Property. These operators included Les Mineraux Laurentiens Ltee (1958), Holannah Mines Ltd. (1960), Le Minerai de Fer (1964-65), Titane De St-Urbain Inc. (1972), and Exploratech (1975. The April 1972 report available on the Property was a study carried out by Paul E. Dumont, P.Eng. which summarized the historical work, and provided resource estimates.
